February Sickness

Randy and Jordan have gotten the Flu! It has been a long week of being at home. Randy even stayed home from work and didn't get off the couch for 14 hours. He never takes sick days and so I knew this was bad. I was feeling confident in my abilities to nurture then until Jordan wasn't keeping any medicine down and his fever was staying above 103. I decided to take Jordan to the doctor and felt like I was at the end of my rope. The doctor gave him a shot to help him, he also had an ear infection. The next day Jordan wouldn't walk on his leg and insisted that he couldn't put pressure on it. Being a stubborn Mom I am, I made him hop around the house, even with his begging to be held and persistence that he couldn't walk. When the next day rolled around he spent another few hours insisting he couldn't put pressure on his leg cause of the shot. I told him I knew he was faking and then he started running around on it. When Kinsey got home from school that day he whispered to her, "I was faking, for just a little more attention."
The day I took Jordan to the doctor was my breaking day. I felt like I was fighting the sickness. My friend Cat brought us dinner. This was such a blessing to our family. None of us had the energy to make a healthy dinner but it was needed so badly to help us get ourselves back up to par. She delivered an awesome dinner, cornflake chicken and twice baked potatoes that lasted a few nights and she also brought black beans and pico for lunches. Her husband, being thoughtful of their family, insisted that if she bring dinner over she wear's a mask to drop it off. She is such a wonderful friend and a great example to me. The following morning, Suzy called to see if I needed anything from the store. I mentioned that due to Kinsey's new interest in omlet making we needed more eggs. She quickly brought over fresh eggs from her own chickens at home. Yummy. I tell ya this is how life is suppose to be. Serving one another when someone is in need and they are wonderful examples to me.
