An extra memory: Kinsey learned a big lesson on making good choices and as a Mother I tried to use the experience to teach her the best I could about her future choices. Her Uncle and Grandpa were trying to get her to touch water off the boardwalk. I had told her not to do it and so she was respecting what I asked and not touching it. After all other kids touched the water she came to me telling me I was mean and it was unfair that she couldn't t0uch the water. I explained that she could, we all have choices to make, but I had asked her not to and if she did she would have to suffer the consequences...the water could burn her, etc. A few minutes after explaining this, Kinsey decided to give into her Uncle's peer pressure and touched the water. Right as she touched it a Ranger yelled out to her, "please don't touch the water" and then he came down and began talking to Kinsey and her Uncle. He let them know that by touching the water they were destroying the park and asked if they could please respect the park so the beauty will remain. I couldn't believe how immediate her consequence was and knew she understood she had made a wrong choice. (This couldn't have been a better teaching opportunity) Later that evening we spent time talking about peer pressure and standing up for what you know is right even if everyone around you is doing what isn't right. I know Kinsey understood the concept learned and I hope she always remembers what she learned.

You guys still at Forbes? I hope so! If so, you will have to let me know who her teacher is this next year! I hope you are doing really well.
EEK!!! I found you... again!! You got off Facebook... I think... right? I have been trying to figure out how I could find you again and then it dawned on me you had a blog. I haven't blogged FOREVER and so I just totally forgot about finding through your blog! I sure have loved reading about your little family. I switched phones months ago and lost your number and I've been thinking about you A LOT lately!!! I miss you, my friend!! I sure do love you!! I hope you get this message and call me when you can.
